Medical Tourism Itinerary in San Miguel

Day One - You will travel to Leon (BJX), Guanajuato, Mexico 200 miles north of Mexico City. Airfare is not included. Required arrival time is 2:00 pm. you will be met by our escort, and driven by private car to the hospital or dental clinic. The appointment for your consultation with the doctor will have been prearranged. The required pre-operative tests will be done at this time and you will be examined by the cardiologist.
After your tests and consultation have been completed, you will be taken to your private room with bath. You are free for the evening to unpack and enjoy a nice dinner. Your surgery is scheduled for the following morning. Your spouse or friend is invited to stay with you, in your room which is equipped with a hospital bed and a single bed (no charge).
Day Two - Your surgery is performed in the morning in this state-of-the-art, full facility, private hospital or at the dental clinic. The hospital: MAC – Médica Avanzada Celaya, and the operating rooms adhere to International standards and are comparable to hospitals in the US. The famous BOARD CERTIFIED doctor’s medical degrees are available upon request. The team includes an M.D. Anesthesiologist and a Cardiologist that have been working together for over 13 years.
The most up to date surgical procedures are used, which are explained to you in detail during your consultation. The Tumescent procedure is used for liposuction and the SMAS technique for facelifts. All cosmetic procedures are available at MAC. The state-of-the-art Hospital’s medics are excellent surgeons, specialized not only in reconstructive and plastic surgery, but other areas of medicine.
Day Three - Convalescence in the hospital and you will be seen twice daily by the surgeon. The efficient staff of nurses see to your comfort on a 24 hour basis. The doctor also has an assistant who will see to your every need. She and the doctors speak English fluently.
Day Four through Eight – You spend the balance of your time in a private harmoniously feng-shui balanced home for healing. Enjoying private spa services at Club Casa Marino. Breakfast and late lunch are served daily. Also enjoying the historic colonial city of San Miguel founded in 1542. It’s like going back in time.
Rich in culture and the arts, visitors are quickly enamored by San Miguel’s splendor. Jazz to mariachis, discos to a bullfight or a play the town stirs with activity. The “Jardin” or town square is within walking distance on cobblestone streets from Club Casa Marino. It’s very safe and pleasant to walk in San Miguel, but if you prefer for $2.00 US you can take a taxi almost anywhere.
The Mexican people are sweet and charming. It seems the 20th century has not reached this mountain “Shangri-La”, neither have US prices. A gourmet dinner for two is about $50.00 US at one of San Miguel’s finest restaurants. Over 10,000 Americans live here full time.
Day Nine - The doctor will come to Club Casa Marino to remove your stitches or if you prefer you may return to the hospital. At this time, he will be assured that you are ready to travel the next day for your return flight back to the US. (Of course, you may stay as long as you wish enjoying San Miguel and returning home appoximately three weeks after your surgery and nobody will ever know.)
Day Ten - Our car will be at Club Casa Marino after breakfast to drive you to the airport for your flight home.

- Land transportation (3 legs) by private car from Leon airport to the hospital, to Club Casa Marino and return to the airport
- Airfare is not included. We suggest Continental from Houston – nonstop, less than two hours from Leon (Leon airport code is BJX or Queretaro is QRO).
Surgery Deposit – $2,500 US (100% refundable) is required to confirm the surgery date. The balance is paid to the doctor at the conclusion of the consultation. Tour Portion – Full payment is required 60 days prior to departure. Cancellation Policy – 30 days prior to departure will be subject to $100 cancellation fee.
Airline Rules – Airline rules will apply if tickets are issued on a nonrefundable basis. Travel Documents – It is required that US citizens present a valid passport. All other nationalities should check requirements prior to booking tour. Check with the airline.
Dress Code – Situated high in the Sierras in a “Sunsplashed Valley” it is cool and dry all year round due to mountain altitude. November to March can be a little cool. Make sure to bring a sweater and comfortable walking shoes for the charming cobblestone streets. The weather is spring like comparable to San Diego, California. Midday is usually in the 70’s. Evenings become cool. Dress code is casual.
Dining – A multitude of fine restaurants are within walking distance to Club Casa Marino. International cuisine is available at reasonable prices as well as traditional Mexican… and yes, in San Miguel you can eat and enjoy the fine foods and vegetables. Most of the fine hotels and restaurants serve bottled water and purified vegetables. The variety of types of cuisine will amaze you.
Shopping - Art galleries abound of all types – the Instituto Allende is the oldest art institute in Latin America. The prices are much less than in the US. Boutiques and shops with local crafts, silver, copper, pottery and don’t miss the rug factory – are all within walking distance of Club Casa Marino and surround the “Jardin”. No hassle here… prices are a bargain.
